Fun with Rocks and Minerals

In this class, we will explore how rocks and minerals form and where geologists find them in the Earth. Each class session will have a hands-on activity that demonstrates what we have learned.
Niagara Falls in Wisconsin?
For students that have completed "Fun with Rocks and Minerals"Coming the Fall of 2024
Cost: $150
How does Niagara Falls tie to Wisconsin? This class will explore the Niagara Escarpment which is the most prominent Geologic feature in North East Wisconsin. This class will be heavily field trip based.
Meet Your Instructor
Kristin Mitchell
Kristin has a passion for helping people of all ages understand what lies below their feet. Underneath the pavement, grass and soil, there is a world of rocks that are just waiting to be explored. She particularly is interested in helping students understand the Geology of Northeast Wisconsin and the importance of the Niagara Escarpment. She has a Master of Science degree in Geology and has been collecting rocks for over 50 years.
